The Battle of Trenton
The Battle of Trenton was also an important battle. On December 26 the Americans attacked the British at Trenton taking them by surprise. The soldiers at Trenton were Hessians among a great number of German mercenaries who were being paid to fight for Britain. Washington's troops captured around one thousand Hessian mercenaries. The soldiers made their camps near Trenton and made campfires. After dark, most of the men packed up and left. The British didn't realize until daylight when the mainbody of soldiers attacked and heavily damaged the British force near Princeton. If this victory nevr occured for the Americans they could have lost the war and America wouldn't have become free. I feel that this was the third most important battle of the war because it was not as important as the other battles but it was still a big part of the war.
